We are a young and interdisciplinary research group driven by the interest in understanding light-induced electronic excitations in molecules and materials, and the photoinduced dynamics behind solar energy conversion, from solar cells to photosynthetic systems. Our goal is to connect fundamental mechanisms to direct experimental observations. To achieve this, we combine the development and application of novel theoretical methods for excited states and multiscale molecular dynamics simulations with ultrafast X-ray scattering experiments at synchrotrons and X-ray free electron lasers.
